Ask for comparable written offers
Use the same purchase price, down payment, loan term, property use and lock period when requesting comparisons. Review the interest rate, APR, points, lender credits, closing costs and total payment together. Ask which items can change before closing and whether the offer assumes a temporary buydown.
Make the comparison local
For a home in Wesley Chapel, Zephyrhills, Land O’ Lakes or New Port Richey, add actual tax, insurance and community-charge estimates. Compare the budget after any temporary payment reduction ends. Prepare your rate conversation
